Coach Brian Glotzbach is a native of Denver, Colorado and began playing sports as a small boy. At Trabuco Hills High School in California, Brian played four years of basketball and ran one year of track, running the 1600 meter and 3200 meter events, placing 4th in the Pacific Coast League meet in the 1600 meters.

Brian returned to Colorado in 1998 and worked for 5 years before deciding to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Metro State University, which he obtained in 2007. While at Metro State, Brian trained for the 2006 and 2007 Boston Marathons with the Metro State Cross Country team under former world class runner Pete Julian, setting several personal best times at varying distances in the process.

Upon graduation Brian took a job at a local park and recreation district running their personal training and sports conditioning programs. He started a marathon training program from scratch for the district, which evolved into Personal Best Marathon Coaching, a fully customized training program for adult marathoners and half marathoners of which he is the head coach and owner. Since November of 2008, Personal Best Marathon Coaching has helped athletes to achieve 117 personal best times at distances from the 5K to the marathon. Brian also is an Assistant Cross Country Coach at Heritage High School in Littleton.

Brian’s own running accomplishments include 8 consecutive Boston Marathons, 23 marathon finishes overall including a 4th place overall finish at the 2009 Tucson Marathon, as well as numerous smaller race victories and top age group finishes. His P.R.s are 4:57 for the mile, 16:41 for 5K, 34:15 for 10K, 1:19:43 for the half marathon, and 2:52:11 for the marathon.

Brian lives in Castle Rock with his wife, Daffeny, who is an accomplished runner herself having completed the grueling Pikes Peak Marathon 4 times and winning her age group in 2003 and their two sons.
