It looks like a great week of weather ahead of us. So, we are going to take advantage of it before it gets too warm. Time for a time trial! I want to get in two before we take our break in July, so I want to give a few weeks in between to hopefully see some improvement. This is just an opportunity to see where you are currently at and get a race pace effort in without an actual race.
Easy jog warmup 10-15 minutes
1 or 2 mile time trial. Technically 1600-3200m time trial, but it’s pretty darn close. I will leave it up to you on how far you want to go on this one, but I would recommend sticking to whatever distance you choose before starting. The goal is try to keep even splits as much as possible or even negative split (run faster towards the end). However, if you get slower that’s ok! This is an opportunity to learn pacing and see how your body feels for a longer/uncomfortable effort.
